Healthcare App Design and Development
What we've learned in this industry
People open health products anxious, distracted or unwell, and that changes the design brief. Shorter paths, plainer words, numbers with context, and consent a person can actually understand. Engagement mechanics imported from consumer apps deserve suspicion here: a streak suits a language app and sits uneasily on symptom tracking.
The compliance layer is a design input rather than a legal afterthought. For products serving Europe, health data sits in GDPR's special categories, and US distribution can bring HIPAA into scope depending on who sells and to whom. We build to the constraint once counsel names it: encryption, need-to-know access with audit trails, revocable consent, and health data kept out of analytics, logs and third-party scripts, which is where products leak it by accident. The cheapest data to protect remains the data never collected.
We work on consumer health and wellness, and we say so plainly. Software that is itself a medical device carries certification regimes that belong with specialists, and pretending otherwise wastes a buyer's time. That honesty is also why the products we do build reach launch without regulatory surprises late in the schedule.
